2012 IMCS YEAR IN REVIEW
Another year is in the books for the Evenson Law Office Iron Man Challenge Series. The series brought in 64 different drivers from 7 different states and Canada. 16 drivers competed at all nine races.
The series seen six different winners in the nine races scheduled. Drivers from California, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming visited victory circle over the coarse of nine races.
Aaron Spangler of Dove Creek, Colorado did not start off as well as he wanted as he broke the first night in Fallon, Nevada on June 7th. But, four wins later he took the series championship by taking the points lead during the last race with a fifth place finish in Ely.
Spangler's four wins came at Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon, Lovelock Speedway in Lovelock, Winnemucca Regional Raceway in Winnemucca, and Great Basin Raceway in Ely.
Robert Miller of Vallejo, California had the points lead heading into the final race by seven over Spangler. Miller had one feature win during the tour at Winnemucca Regional Raceway in Winnemucca but consistency kept him on top of the leaderboard until he was involved in a caution with only a few laps to go in Ely. He finished nineteenth.
The first race of the series seen Utah driver, Dustin Hansen of Myton win at the Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon, Nevada but bad luck bit hard as he ended up finishing thirteenth in the final standings and earning one other top ten finish.
Saturday's race in Lovelock seen Richard Anderson of Shelley, Idaho take home the feature win. Richard held the points lead after race three but Miller captured the top spot after the final night in Lovelock. Anderson ended up finishing fifth in the standings. He finished sixth in 2011.
Dan Fitzgerald of Las Vegas, Nevada won race number seven at the Summit Raceway in Elko, Nevada. He is the only driver to win Iron Man races in 2011 and 2012. Fitzgerald did not race the first race of the series but he ended up finishing ninth in the final standings.
The final race of the series went to EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour former champion (2011, 2009) Justen Yeager of Green River, Wyoming. This is Yeager's first Evenson Law Office Iron Man Challenge Series feature win and was his thirteenth EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour win.
Other drivers that showed muscle during the series were Chase Hansen, Wyatt Howard, Cory Sample, Wade Taylor, Riley Simmons, Jeff Olschowka, Bert Beech, Rick Spangler, Ron Moser, Dan Lee, Lee Bosch, Steve Evenson, Austin Black, Jay Sears, Jake Holland and much more..
The series traveled to five different tracks in nine races.

Driver of the Year- Wade Lumsden of Reno, Nev.
Sportsman of the Year- Dan Lee of High River, Alberta

Best Race of the Year- June 16, 2012 at Great Basin Raceway in Ely, Nev.
